At Aplos Housing Resources we understand the pressures that homelessness officers and managers are under. Ever increasing homeless applications with more decisions to make. This is in addition to the threat of legal challenges.
Why did we call our company Aplos Housing Resources? Quite simply, Aplos comes from the Greek word ‘Aplo’ which means ‘simple’. Everything we do at Aplos Housing Resources is to make things simple for local authorities housing options services.
We have made the decision-making process simple by providing legally compliant templates that guide officers to make correct decisions. We recognise that assessing eligibility can be quite daunting for many officers. Our Eligibility Calculator will make things very simple for officers helping them to correctly assess whether an applicant is eligible and if not which correct decision letter needs to be sent out. Our Assessment and Personalised Housing Plan software will ensure that effective prevention strategies are being implemented reducing homelessness and associated costs. This is in addition to providing legally compliant housing needs assessments.
Minos Perdios
Minos has worked in homelessness since 1992. He is Reviews Manager at our sister company, Housing Reviews Ltd, where he has carried out thousands of S166A & S202 Housing Act 1996 reviews on behalf of local authorities. Many of his cases have been heard in the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. He is also our lead trainer delivering practical homelessness training to over 100 local authorities.
Minos has been writing Part 7 Housing Act 1996 templates since he became a reviews manager and found that his review decision letters were being endorsed by various courts. He has strived to write templates that can be understood by applicants as much as possible whilst also making the work of housing options officers simpler. Minos decided to offer a template subscription service as he recognises that the law around homelessness changes regularly.
Lucia Alexander
Lucia set up Aplos Housing Resources Limited with Minos Perdios. She is the main contact point for local authorities and co-ordinates the subscriptions. She works closely with our IT consultants to ensure a smooth transition to using our subscription service.
